Welcome to the Research Interest Group at JABSOM!
The Research Interest Group was founded to promote medical student involvement in research at John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM). We strive to act a liaison between clinical faculty, researchers, and JABSOM students. To facilitate this process, we have developed a database of researchers that interested students may contact.
We encourage medical students to begin developing a relationship with a JABSOM researcher early in their first year so they may have an opportunity to make substantial contributions to their research projects prior to the rigorous clinical years of their medical education. Our aim is to serve as a resource to connect students to researchers in a way that is mutually beneficial. The Research Interest Group supports many other educational activities that relate to research. The Translational Research Seminars and Journal Club meetings are two such examples, but we are always looking for more ways to get students interest in research.
